Thank you for visiting the official page for "Friends of Trish Baker".
I am the Clerk of Circuit Court for Portage County and have been since November 2011, when I was appointed by the Portage County Judges to the Office.
As the Clerk of Circuit Court, I am the legal custodian of all Circuit Court records. I manage a staff of thirteen, and oversee the collection of all Circuit Court fines, forefeitures, filing fees and court costs for the entire county.
I am a licensed attorney and was sworn into the State Bar in 1997. Prior to being the Clerk of Circuit Court I practiced law as a prosecutor working as an Assistant District Attorney representing the State of Wisconsin for about ten years. I also worked for two years as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Wausau.
My goal for the Portage County Circuit Courts is to ensure that county government provides safe, accessible, fair, and efficient access to the Circuit Courts for all Portage County residents.
I believe that the courts need to be open to all, that they need to be fair and accountable. All Wisconsin taxpayers support our courts as the ultimate place to litigate and air our disputes. The courts belong to all Wisconsin citizens and should always be open and accessible to all.
